Thrive together at Kansas City’s free literary event.
For the fourth year, the Kansas City Public Library, Mid-Continent Public Library, Missouri Humanities, and the Missouri Center for the Book are proud to foster the joy of reading at the Heartland Book Festival.
In our grand and welcoming gathering spaces, adults and kids celebrate the joy of curiosity and the courage to engage in inclusive, civil dialogue. All day long, engage with neighbors during workshops, listen to panel discussions, enjoy author talks and signings, make a craft, and step outside to try a local food truck.
Past festivals have featured bestselling novelists Taylor Jenkins Reid, Tommy Orange, and Karin Slaughter, Reading Rainbow’s Mychal Threets, bestselling author and former Georgia House representative Stacey Abrams, and literary icon Percival Everett.
Who will you see — and read — this year?
